General questions
How can I contact you to discuss garden design and / or landscaping?
There are several convenient ways to reach out to us. You can get in touch via our contact form on our contact page, directly through our email address, or by reaching us on WhatsApp. All details available on our contact page or at the footer of this page. We are here and eager to start the conversation about your garden project.
What locations do you cover?
Our team reside in the Banchory and Stonehaven areas. As such, we hold a strong connection to projects in Deeside, Southern and Western Aberdeenshire, and the city of Aberdeen. We’ve also taken our expertise to projects as far as Dyce and Inverurie and surrounding areas. However, we believe that great gardens know no boundaries and for the right project we're more than willing to venture beyond our local grounds, bringing our skills and creativity to your doorstep, wherever it may be.
Garden design FAQs
What will it cost to create detailed garden design plans?
Design expenses are contingent upon the scale and intricacy of the project, typically commencing at £500. We offer a complimentary initial consultation to better understand your project's requirements and ensure a tailored approach to your needs.
What’s your garden design process?
Each design is tailored to match our client's preferences and is founded on their unique ideas. During our initial discussions, at a site visit (and follow up visits as required) we'll define the purpose of your outdoor space, consider site-related aspects like sun exposure and privacy, explore your personal preferences such as colour schemes and favourite plants, and align the design with your budget.
The comprehensive design comprises a concept plan, computer-aided visuals, supplementary example images and sketches, construction detailing, setting-out plans, planting plans, lighting and irrigation plans, material specifications, and a breakdown of project build costs.
How long does a garden design take?
Following the initial consultation and agreement to commence the project, along with subsequent site visits for additional details, a standard garden design process typically spans a duration of 4 to 6 weeks.
Can you provide just a design to allow us to undertake the landscaping ourselves?
Absolutely, we offer the option to solely acquire the design for your landscaping project. Upon payment, the client gains full ownership of the design, providing the freedom to proceed with the implementation independently. While many of our clients opt to move forward with Terra Foras for their garden construction requirements, we understand and respect your choice to handle the landscaping yourselves based on our provided design.
What size of garden design projects do you undertake?
At Terra Foras, we take on projects of all sizes with the same level of passion and care. Whether you have a cosy courtyard or have an expansive rural haven, your garden's uniqueness is exciting to us. We'll work with you to create a space that suits your needs and brings your garden vision to life.

We've successfully completed projects with budgets of up to £100,000, while also assisting clients seeking support for smaller installations like bin sheds, drystone dykes or decking, showcasing our ability to accommodate various budget levels. For comprehensive garden makeover projects, a minimum budget of £10,000 is typically recommended, ensuring that we can deliver the transformation you envision.
Do you offer landscaping only?
If you have a well-defined vision for your garden design project or already possess concept or detailed design plans, we're thrilled to collaborate with you specifically on the landscaping component of your garden project.
When are you available to landscape my garden once a design is finalised?
